Summer 2010

To usher in the official start of Summer 2010 and celebrate summer solstice this past Monday, we went swimming AFTER dinner.

It’s only the beginning of summer, but the children are a chocolatey brown already.  I should’ve taken some before and after pictures to show the colour changes in them.  If it’s above 18 degrees and not raining, you can pretty much guarantee that the children are in the pool.

We stayed out till 9pm and the sun was just going behind the trees.

And for this out-of-the-ordinary event (i.e. swimming “in the night” as in, past 7pm), I accomplished a couple of things.  1) very happy children who thought mummy was the best! :), and 2) checking off an item on this to-do list we just started:

Yeah, looks like a busy summer ahead.  I’m not sure what kind of trouble I’m in by putting this list up.  If you know our children, especially the oldest one, you’ll appreciate the stress I’ve just placed on myself. 🙂  Barely 2 days after the list went up, I’ve had to issue a caveat: that the list was not a license for them to nag me to do this or that activity.  And they were not to ask me every hour whether we could (fill in the blanks).

Wonder how many we’ll be able to check off…
