Empty

Completely empty. How is that possible???

Downloaded photos from the camera a few weeks ago onto the computer. I’ve set up my photo folders so that pictures are sorted by month and year.

There were NO pictures in my April 2010 folder. Zilch. Nada. Zero. Big fat egg. No pictures whatsoever to speak of and show.

No pictures to show how much stuff we were working on in April. Stuff like the big maple syrup clean-up operation. All the bottles of syrup lined up. Doing our big house spring-cleaning. Stuff like MS dad in his bright orange protective chaps and steel-toed boots wielding a chainsaw and cutting down his first ever 50’+ tree. No pictures to show him slogging away in the woods hauling logs, sometimes one at a time up the rocky terrain. No pictures of him rigging up our good ‘ol toboggan sled with rope to the back of his VW, so that he could haul more logs up at one time. No pictures of the children pitching in to bring the smaller logs out of the woods into the backyard, of them rolling the big logs down the little hill.

No pictorial evidence of MS dad breaking what must be the cardinal rule of felling trees – no cutting during windy days – to come out of that experience unscathed, with only a bent chainsaw blade to replace. No pictures to show the whole family working together to split logs (with an electric log splitter coupled with pure MS dad muscle 🙂 )and stack them. No funny pictures of when the first stacking attempt failed when the whole row of wood fell down….twice.

And the day Maple the dog brought home the most disgusting, foul, dripping-with-blood THING. Which I finally determined was a muskrat. GROSS SUPER GROSS YUCKY TO THE 1000th degree. ugh.

I’m sure there were lots of other things we were busy with. But these were definitely the highlights. Sometimes I wish I had a webcam attached to my head 24/7. These memories would then have been captured effortlessly. Oh well. I’ll just file this into my journal.
